AMMAN — On Wednesday, a traffic accident
on Al-Adasiya road resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries to 13
others.

The accident was caused by an overturned
truck carrying iron material, which caused the load to fall on several
vehicles, with three of them catching fire.
Specialized teams respond
The Public Security Directorate's
spokesperson, Amer Al-Sartawi, reported that specialized teams from the Civil
Defense and the police responded to the incident.
The Civil Defense teams worked to
extinguish the fire, transport the injured to the hospital, and deal with the
incident.
Investigation ongoingAccording to Sartawi, a traffic
investigation into the incident has been opened.
The road has been reopened to traffic
after the debris was cleared. The Ministry of Public Works and Housing, in
coordination with the PSD, announced the partial closure of the right lane of
the Al-Adasiya road following the accident.
The director of Al-Shuna Al-Janubiya
Hospital, Awad Al-Khazaaleh, said that the hospital staff is ready to handle
the cases referred to them.
The injured are receiving treatment,
according to Al-Mamlaka TV.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing
urged road users to take caution and follow the instructions of its staff and
partners in PSD.
The ministry confirmed that its staff and
equipment are on site to remove the debris resulting from the accident in
cooperation with partners from PSD.
