According to Civil Defense Department, one man is in
critical condition while the other, the driver, suffered severe injuries.
Two post office employees were present at the time of the
accident. “We were terrified; it sounded like a loud explosion”, said one of
the employees, who preferred to remain unnamed.
“The two
young men were driving a bit fast towards Salt along called a steep road in
Allan. When they were surprised by a pot hole, the driver wanted to avoid it so
he hit the brakes and the truck swerved and hit the fence above the building.
The driver jumped out of the vehicle, but my cousin next to him could not and
ended up on the roof trapped inside the smashed truck,” Hasan Jamal told
Jordan
News over the phone.
“It was a
tough time to rescue him because my cousin was almost crushed with the truck,
added Hasan. “I called his family and he is now in the hospital in critical
conditions. His both legs are broken and the blood vessels are damaged,” the
cousin continued.
