AMMAN — This
Eid Al-Fitr,
Jordanians’ top
travel destinations are Turkey and Egypt, according to the
Jordan Society of Tourism and Travel Agents.

However, the demand for travel during this
year’s
Eid Al-Fitr holiday has witnessed a 50-percent decrease compared to last
year.
The society’s secretary told Hala News that
many travel and tourism offices are currently working to cancel and reduce the
number of seats they have purchased on airlines to meet the lowered
demand for foreign trips during the holiday.
Citizens often make last-minute
reservations, meaning that some more bookings are expected, but in general, the
demand is far below that in 2022, the secretary said,
attributing this decline in travel to the failure of many private-sector companies to pay workers’
salaries, the economic situation in general, and the short duration of the Eid
holiday.
