AMMAN — Turkey’s Foreign Minister
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Wednesday that his country has been receiving
assistance from Jordan since the day the
earthquake struck Turkey and Syria.

During a joint press conference with Jordan’s
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Al-Safadi
in Ankara, Çavuşoğlu noted that His Majesty King Abdullah had directed “full
support for Turkey since the
first day of the earthquake”.
“Since the first day, we have received full aid
and relief from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan,” the minister said,
highlighting the help provided by Jordan’s search and rescue personnel and a
full Jordanian medical team consisting of 30 doctors and technicians.
Jordan also provided about 22 tonnes of aid
supplies to Turkey, according to Çavuşoğlu, who also mentioned the dispatch of
"thousands of tents” to the republic.
Appreciation for supportÇavuşoğlu expressed his gratitude to King Abdullah
and the Jordanian people for their "full support and communication with us
since the first hour".
"We will emerge from this difficult test
and disaster, and we will launch a campaign for reconstruction," he
concluded.
