AMMAN — Two police officers were injured
in a drug bust in southern Amman on Wednesday, according to the Jordan News
Agency, Petra.
A spokesman for the Public Security Directorate (PSD)
said anti-narcotics agents ambushed two drug dealers while in the process of an
illegal drug delivery near the Amman Development Corridor (a southern Amman
highway), adding that as soon as the dealers spotted the police force, they
fired at the officers, wounding two. The agents returned fire and injured the
two dealers, the PSD spokesman said, adding that all the injured were taken to
hospitals.
