to Rotarians about Jordan’s political future plan. In a speech about UK-Jordan

Brind
was addressing members of five Amman-based Rotary clubs at the Landmark Hotel
on Wednesday, according to a press statement.
President
of the Amman International Rotary, Samuel Kakish, highlighted the relations
between Jordan and Britain, which trace back to the early 1900s when Arabs
helped the British in World War I.
Brind
also spoke about the nations’ 102 years of shared history and praised the
partnership with Jordan, describing the relationship as “brilliant”. She
touched on the recent Aqaba meeting as an important step in difficult
circumstances and reiterated her country’s support for the two-state solution
based on the 1967 lines, with Jerusalem as a shared capital and the
preservation of the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The
ambassador mentioned the “illegal and unprovoked” Russian invasion of Ukraine,
noting the impact on both Jordan and the UK through higher food and energy
prices.
She
also highlighted the many visits of the British royal family to Jordan.
In
answer to another question, Brind spoke about the importance of diversity.
“Economies thrive because the best ideas are discovered when you have
diversity.”
The
event was co-organized by the Rotary clubs of Amman West, Amman Citadel, Amman
Ammon, Amman International, and Philadelphia.
