According to a statement, UNIFIL emphasized the importance of fully implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and utilizing the newly established mechanism as agreed upon in the understanding, calling on the Israeli army to withdraw within the specified timeframe and deploy the Lebanese Armed Forces in southern Lebanon.
The international mission confirmed its readiness to support both countries in fulfilling their commitments, including ensuring that the area south of the Litani River remains free of any arms other than those belonging to the Lebanese government and UNIFIL.
On the other hand, a Lebanese security source reported that the Israeli army has erected an earth berm separating the Wadi al-Hujayr and Wadi al-Salouqi valleys, cutting the road between them.
