The ambassador made
the remarks during a charity iftar organized Tuesday by the Shaban Group,
owners of the Tiger Rice brand in Amman, where the envoy was a guest of honor.
The iftar, which
was held in cooperation with
USA Rice at the Children’s Museum, was attended by
300 orphans, and representatives of several orphanages, including Mabarrat Um
Al-Hussein. Gifts were given at the ceremony and educational and entertaining
activities were held for children.
Wooster
congratulated the Shaban Group and the USA Rice Company for their generosity in
hosting orphans and affirmed his country’s commitment to Jordan’s food
security.
Emphasizing the
importance of trade between Jordan and the US in boosting the resilience of
Jordan’s food supply networks, Wooster said: “Companies like Shaban and the
entire Jordanian private sector play a key role in strengthening trade
relations between our two countries, which helps the Jordanian government
achieve food security, as it should. The private sector must be the foundation
of social and economic prosperity for all Jordanians.”
Shaban Group CEO
Azmi Shaban said that sponsoring the iftar is in line with the group’s
philosophy of giving back to various sectors of the society, and serving
community members, especially children.
The iftar was attended by former prime minister Nader
Al-Dahabi;
Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yousef Al-Shamali; Minister
of Energy Saleh Al-Kharabsheh; President of the Jordan and Amman chambers of
industry Fathi Al-Jaghbir; and President of the Chamber of Commerce Issa Murad.
