AMMAN — A US delegation representing
medical experts discussed enhanced cooperation with the
Jordan University Hospital (JUH), Ammon News reported.

Jamal Melhem, the hospital’s director-general, said the
American delegation he hosted represented the Los Angeles-based Children’s
Hospital, according to Ammon.
He added that the delegation sought to conduct surgeries for
children with congenital heart defects in Jordan.
Melhem praised the delegation’s visit and its purpose.
He said the meeting paved the way for exchanging expertise in the medical
field. He stressed the importance of such visits, saying they boost JUH’s
treatment, especially for children.
Two similar campaigns will kick off in Jordan this year
to conduct surgeries for children who have heart diseases, including
deformities and open heart, according to Dr. Iyad AL- Ammouri stated, a JUH
pediatric consultant.
