WASHINGTON — A memo from the US State
Department reveals that Israel is planning a campaign targeting social media
users in Jordan, Egypt, and the Gulf after its image was tarnished due to the
aggression in Gaza. The memo recommends pressuring Israeli officials regarding
the damage Israel's reputation may suffer due to the ongoing war in Gaza. The
US is concerned that Israel is committing a strategic mistake by denying the
potential damage from the Gaza war. Israelis appear unaware of the significant
reputational harm they may face for generations.

In response, the US State Department clarified that the Israeli
Foreign Ministry objected to the memo and blamed TikTok for inciting against
Israel. The US State Department stated that the Israeli government requested
targeting social media users to confront the denial of the atrocities of the
October 7 attack, Khaberni reported.
The memo also indicates that Israel
plans a similar campaign soon in Egypt, Jordan, and Gulf countries.
