Amman - The University of Jordan has been ranked 368th in the QS World University Rankings 2025, marking a significant milestone in its journey towards global academic excellence.

In a statement on Wednesday, University President Nathir Obeidat highlighted that this achievement underscores the university's ongoing progress and strengthens its position among the world's leading academic institutions, out of more than 40,000 universities worldwide.
Obeidat noted that the university has doubled its efforts since entering the top 500 universities worldwide for the first time in 2024. These efforts, coupled with strategic initiatives, have culminated in the university's rise to 368th place in the QS World University Rankings 2025.
The university has shown remarkable progress across various performance metrics. It ranked 268th globally in academic reputation, climbing 29 places from the previous year. The impact of its scientific research, measured by the number of citations, improved significantly, advancing 92 places in the global research impact indicator.
In terms of employment reputation, the university achieved the 197th position globally, an improvement of 53 places from the previous year. Additionally, it saw a substantial rise in the graduate employment impact indicator, moving up 153 places to 110th globally.
The university also made notable progress in the proportion of international students, advancing 54 places to secure the 331st position globally. Furthermore, it improved in the sustainability development indicator, climbing 89 places to rank 371st globally.
Obeidat expressed pride in these accomplishments, attributing them to the collective efforts of the university's administration, faculty, researchers, staff, students, and alumni. These combined efforts have focused on enhancing the quality of academic programs, scientific research, and the overall university environment to meet global ranking standards.
He emphasized that the university's strategic plan aims to bolster its academic reputation by recruiting and promoting top-tier faculty members and developing innovative programs that align with market needs. These programs are designed to equip graduates with essential skills that foster creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Obeidat also underscored the importance of forging effective partnerships with the business, industrial, and financial sectors to bridge the gap between education and market demands at local, regional, and global levels.
