The
university has moved up to the 372nd position globally, compared to the 401-450
range in the previous year, maintaining its top position locally and being
ranked 8th among Arab universities, Hala News reported.
According
to the university's statement on Tuesday, the ranking comprises three main
areas: environmental impact, social impact, and governance, each including
specific performance indicators.
In
the environmental impact criterion, the university secured the 305th position
globally, advancing from the 422nd position held last year. This criterion is
based on three indicators, with
environmental sustainability being a notable
one where the university achieved the 96th position. In the environmental
education indicator, the university secured the 291st position globally.
In
the social impact category, consisting of 5 indicators, the university excelled
in the knowledge exchange indicator, securing the 254th position globally. As
for the third and final area related to governance, the university achieved the
235th position globally.
It
is noteworthy that the
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United
Nations, adopted in 2015, represent the culmination of decades of work to
address major issues facing our world. This ranking aims to support those
efforts, recognizing the significant role universities can play in leading the
comprehensive implementation of various sectors related to sustainable
development goals. This enables the assessment of their commitment to achieving
sustainable development goals.
