This is part of the ongoing national water awareness campaigns organized by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority / Media and Communication Directorate during the holy month of Ramadan, with the goal of promoting responsible water consumption.
Media advisor Dr. Mohammed Al-Maaita delivered lectures at the Muta Center for Culture and Heritage - "Al-Mashhad" Forum, as well as various charitable and cultural associations in most areas of Karak Governorate, including the Muta and Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi districts and Al-Qasr (Shihan) district. The sessions, held over three consecutive days, were attended by association leaders, members of the Karak Forum for Thought and Social Culture, and local community members, including youth, parents, and academics.
The lectures focused on the water challenges faced by Jordan and the ways to adopt water-saving methods in the governorate. The concept of water awareness, particularly during Ramadan when water demand increases, was highlighted. Discussions also included how to encourage participants to use methods for reducing water consumption in a civilized manner, considering both religious, ethical, and humanitarian aspects, whether in agriculture, car washing, or preventing water wastage in homes, schools, universities, and public spaces where people are present daily.
Additionally, educational and media exercises were conducted on adopting water-saving techniques and raising awareness about the importance of using water-saving materials, such as faucet-saving devices and water hoses, and the need to regularly inspect and maintain water pipelines to prevent leaks.
Participants praised these positive awareness efforts, recognizing their significance in educating citizens about their responsibility toward water, which is essential for life. The campaign emphasized spreading awareness and knowledge in a scientific and accurate manner, viewing water conservation as a collective responsibility for the benefit of the nation.
Forum and association leaders, activists, and community members expressed their willingness to cooperate with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Water Authority / Media and Communication Directorate in organizing important awareness programs and activities that benefit all segments of society. They also pledged to provide logistical support, such as dedicating halls and offering services for the national public interest.
