In a statement issued on Thursday, Abu Saud highlighted the Cabinet's recent approval of a €60 million loan provided by the German government through the KfW Development Bank to fund the project. This initiative seeks to expand access to sanitation services, improve environmental standards, and reduce reliance on absorption pits, thereby addressing pressing sanitation challenges.
The minister emphasized that the project aligns with efforts to develop non-traditional water sources, increasing the supply of treated water for restricted agricultural and industrial uses. He noted the importance of treated water in recharging groundwater reserves and contributing to sustainable water management practices.
