AMMAN —
Minister of Water and Irrigation Mohammad Al-Najjar affirmed that Jordan’s
share of water from the the Yarmouk River is not specified in the agreement it
signed with Syria, according to Ammon News.

Najjar said that
there is no text in the agreement indicating
Syria’s commitment to provide specific
quantities of water to Jordan, adding that the terms of the agreement should be
amended and take into consideration possible climate change forecasts and the
fact that the Kingdom hosts about 1.5 million Syrian refugees.
He also said that
there are no new agreements with the Syrian side regarding supplying water to
Jordan.
