AMMAN — The Ministry of Water and
Irrigation has announced the extension of the deadline for submitting financial
and technical bids for the National Water Carrier Project to July 3 in response
to requests from qualified parties, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The project is a major priority for
safeguarding national water security and a crucial component of the country's
economic growth, the ministry emphasized in a statement on Thursday.
Approximately 300 million cubic meters of
desalinated water will be transported annually through the National Water
Carrier Project (Aqaba-Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project) from
the Red Sea port city of Aqaba to the capital Amman and other cities.
