Water theft cases uncovered south of Amman-Ministry

AMMAN — The Water Ministry, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate (PSD), on Thursday carried out a security campaign to detect water theft cases in southern Amman areas of Umm Al-Rasas, Al-Jamil, and Husban districts.اضافة اعلان

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said 12 illegal fixtures were dismantled on the main waterlines, which siphoned off hundreds of cubic meters of water daily that affects quotas and quantities allocated to a number of areas in southern Amman.

The ministry also noted legal procedures are underway with the various competent authorities to investigate the water theft incidents.

The ministry pledged continued efforts by implementing law provisions to prevent attacks on water resources and infrastructure countrywide.
