AMMAN — On Saturday,
Jordan Metrology Department (JMD) forecasts a significant weather event next Tuesday as a
low-pressure system from south of Cyprus, accompanied by a cold air mass,
brings a slight temperature drop, along with heavy rainfall at times in the
north, as per Khaberni. During the night, the accompanying cold air front will
pass, resulting in colder weather and intermittent
rain showers in these
regions, occasionally mixed with snow over high elevations. Preliminary
indications also suggest possible snow showers over high southern mountain
peaks.

Regarding
Saturday’s weather, JMD stated that
Jordan remains under the influence of a cold, humid air mass, with intermittent
cold and rainy weather prevailing in the north, center, and parts of the
southwestern regions. Additionally, JMD has issued warnings about the risk of
flash floods and increased water levels in valleys and low-lying areas,
including the Dead Sea region, as well as reduced horizontal visibility,
particularly over mountainous terrain due to fog and low-lying clouds.
On Sunday, JMD forecasts a foggy and cold in
most areas, with partly to mostly cloudy skies and intermittent rain showers expected
in the north, central Jordan, and limited parts of the southwestern regions.
The winds will be moderate southwest, occasionally picking up in strength.
Furthermore, Monday's weather is expected to
be cold and partly to mostly cloudy, with intermittent rain showers anticipated
in the north and center of the Kingdom. The winds will be moderate southwest,
occasionally becoming active.
