ArabiaWeather center reported a drastic
change in the weather in Jordan starting from Tuesday, following
warm temperatures in the past few days, with a series of expected air depressions in
the coming days. The center mentioned the beginning of the expected activity
affecting the
eastern Mediterranean basin, including Jordan, starting from
Tuesday and Wednesday, with a low-grade air depression accompanied by a cold
air mass.
The ArabiaWeather center has reported a
significant
weather shift in Jordan starting from Tuesday, following a period
of warm temperatures in the preceding days. The center anticipates a series of
air depressions in the coming days, noting the beginning of expected weather
activity in the eastern Mediterranean basin, encompassing Jordan, beginning on
Tuesday and Wednesday. This includes a low-grade air depression accompanied by
a cold air mass.
Therefore, this shift is expected to
result in a notable decrease in temperatures, and precipitation is anticipated
across different regions. The center is closely monitoring the persistent flow
of cold winds from Northern Europe into the region, likely contributing to the
influence of yet another air depression on Friday and Saturday.
Jordan Meteorology Department (JMD)
reported that on Tuesday, Jordan would be impacted by a cold and moist air mass
accompanying a low-pressure system situated off the coast of Lebanon. As a
result, a significant temperature decrease is anticipated, accompanied by
partly to mostly cloudy skies. Rain showers are expected in the northern,
central, and limited portions of the southwest regions, with moderate westerly
winds occasionally gaining strength.
Moreover, the Jordan
Meteorological Department (JMD) warned of slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall and
decreased horizontal visibility over mountainous regions and plains due to
low-hanging clouds. Additionally, there is a possibility of reduced visibility
caused by dust stirred up by active winds in desert areas.
On Wednesday, the weather is expected to
persist with cold conditions, featuring partly to mostly cloudy skies and
occasional rainfall in the north, central, and select areas of the southwest
regions. Westerly winds will maintain a moderate pace, occasionally
strengthening. As the evening progresses, the likelihood of rain will diminish,
and clouds will gradually disperse. Fog is anticipated to form over mountainous
areas during the night. Nevertheless, Thursday's weather is expected to be
characterized by foggy and partly cloudy conditions, with cold temperatures
prevailing in most regions. There is a chance of light rain showers in the
north, and westerly winds are forecasted to maintain a moderate speed.
In response to the weather conditions,
the
Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has declared the preparedness of its teams
to address any reports received at the Tla'a Al-Ali Emergency Room, urging
caution and advising people to stay away from valleys and low-lying areas.
Additionally, GAM recommends avoiding the connection of house gutters to sewage
drains to prevent flooding. Moreover, citizens are reminded not to dispose of
waste randomly to prevent the blocking of rainwater drainage lines.
