The initiative was announced via JRTV's flagship Friday show, "Yesed Sabahak," six lucky vaccinated people will receive JD500 each, provided that they had been inoculated in the week preceding the drawing, regardless of whether it was their first or second shot.
The initiative is aimed to encourage individuals and incentivize them to take the vaccine to immunize society as a whole.
The first drawing, which will be broadcast on JRTV every Friday, will be held on November 5. Organizers said that during the vaccination process, individuals would be asked whether they wanted to have their names added to the lottery or not.
In an interview with JRTV's "Yesed Sabahak" program, ABJ President Maher Mahrouq said that the initiative reflects the banking sector's responsibility towards the national economy, which needs to restore full normalcy, stressing that economic recovery at these difficult times can only be achieved through vaccination.
The first phase of the scheme is funded by donations from the Jordan Islamic Bank, Jordan Ahli Bank, Arab Bank, Cairo Amman Bank, Housing Bank for Trade and Finance, Capital Bank, Arab Islamic Bank, and Orange Jordan.
