bill is more than JD50, as they will come under a 200 fils per kilowatt tariff,
according to energy expert Amer Al-Shobaki.

Unmarried Jordanians and those living in separate households
and whose consumption is currently less than JD50 monthly will also be harmed
since they will be invoiced according to an unsubsidized tariff.
Jordanian owners of home solar energy systems will also be
affected and will be invoiced according to an unsubsidized tariff.
Under the new system, the tariff for unsubsidized
electricity is 120 fils/kilowatt for the first 1,000 kilowatts, and 150
fils/kilowatt for consumption that is more than 1,000 kilowatts.
The subsidized tariff is applied to only one electricity
meter for a Jordanian family’s home at a price of 50 fils/kilowatt for the
first 300 kilowatts of consumption, 100 fils/kilowatts for the second 300
kilowatts, and 200 fils/kilowatts for more than 600 kilowatts consumption per
month.
