AMMAN — Samir Al-Rifai, the first vice president of
the Senate, has announced that the women's quota in elections will come to an
end within the next 10 years, as women will have a stronger role in the
election process, according to Hala News.

Speaking at the
National Convention in a talk titled "The reality of women's party
participation, one year after the approval of the parties law 2022,” Rifai
emphasized the importance of enhancing the role of women in the political,
economic, and social spheres.
"Women in the Arab world suffer, whether politically, economically, or in terms of wages.”
The talk was
hosted by Hayat Center-Rased in cooperation with the Greater Amman
Municipality-Community Development Committee.
Rifai stated
that celebrating Women's Day in Jordan has become “protocol” to some, adding that
the role of women has witnessed a renaissance since the start of this year,
coinciding with the launch of the phases of the political modernization vision.
He also
stressed the importance of gender equality in wages, which came in response to
broad demands during the past years.
Rifai added:
"Women in the Arab world suffer, whether politically, economically, or in
terms of wages.”
During the
convention, Rifai said that many political parties have adjusted their
conditions to comply with the amendments to the Political Parties Law, which
will give a new face to the Parliament in Jordan.
