Majali said that the amendment related to women inheritors
covers all cases prior to the adoption of the law, and that their shares will
be disbursed as soon as they are approved.
“The law that is currently in force does not stipulate that
married women and sisters receive their share of inheritance in the event of
divorce or widowhood after the death of their testator,” Majali said.
He said that the amended draft law, which is in the process
of being debated and enacted by the Lower House, will be presented to the SSC
board of directors to go through the stages needed to obtain constitutional
approval.
