Workshop assesses environmental impact of Aqaba potash warehouse

AMMAN — The Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) organized a joint workshop in cooperation with the Arab Potash Company (APC) to conduct an environmental impact assessment on a construction project for a new red potash warehouse in Aqaba, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.اضافة اعلان

Under the project, a new warehouse for red potash will be constructed in the southern port city to prevent any contamination between red and white potash, and increase the APC’s storage capacity.

In a statement on Sunday, ASEZA’shead of environmental studies, Taghreed Maaytah, said that the workshop is the last consultative phase of an assessment prepared by the advisory team at Al-Rawabi Consulting Company to ensure the protection of the environment, and to reduce the negative impact of the warehouse on surrounding water and energy sources.
