In
her opening remarks, TVSDC head, Raghda Faouri, said, in the presence of
training stakeholders from the private and public sectors, that the commission
was established to serve Jordan's vocational and technical education and
training sector.
As
a major priority, she noted drafting a sector-related strategy aims to develop
a roadmap and support all stakeholders to achieve a "strong"
partnership between the public and private sectors and develop National
Qualifications Framework.
Establishment
of sectorial skills councils came to strengthen partnership with the private
sector to meet labor market's requirements and reduce unemployment rates among
youth and alumni, she said.
The
workshop aims to build beneficiaries' capacities and establish a monitoring and
assessment system over Jordan's vocational and technical training sector and
enhance its performance, according to a TVSDC statement.
