The workshop
discussed the recommendations and findings of the sectors since the beginning
of the workshop, which was launched on 26 February at a Royal invitation, with
the participation of more than 300 personalities. The workshop targets 14 main
sectors, from which three sub-sectors have been branched.
Health Minister
Firas Al-Hawari said that “the discussions included the civil, military,
private medical and health insurance sectors, in addition to social security.”
He added that most
of the groups affiliated with the health sector were met, and “in the end we
must come up with a general strategy for the health sector in general.”
“The strategy will
rely on many issues such as governance, computerization, quality, and reviving
medical tourism, which are integrated to advance the health sector in all its
categories,” according to Hawari.
He confirmed that
the ministry had already focused on a large part of what is being discussed at
the workshop, such as governance, restructuring the ministry, adding new
services, new specializations, opening health centers and delivering medicines
to homes.
