AMMAN — U.S. Ambassador-designate Yael Lempert officially presented her credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on Monday. This event marked the formal commencement of her role as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Jordan.

Prior to her appointment as Ambassador to Jordan, Yael Lempert held significant roles within the U.S. State Department. She served as Acting Assistant Secretary and as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs.
Lempert’s experience
Her experience also includes assignments such as Chargé d'Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in London, Deputy Chief of Mission at the same embassy, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Egypt and North Africa, and Senior Director for the Levant, Israel, and Egypt at the National Security Council.
Lempert's expertise in Middle Eastern and North African affairs has been honed through previous tours in Jerusalem, Tripoli, Cairo, and Baghdad.
With Ambassador-designate Lempert's diplomatic credentials now officially presented, her tenure promises to further solidify the strategic partnership between the U.S. and the Kingdom facilitating collaboration across a range of critical bilateral and regional issues.
