During the same period, 2,559 liters of liquid materials unfit for consumption were destroyed, and 59 warnings were issued to food establishments for failing to comply with health requirements and approved standards.
Zarqa Governor Dr. Firas Abu Qaoud emphasized the importance of coordination between regulatory authorities to control the markets and provide a safe environment for consumers. He clarified that the Unified Committee includes representatives from the Jordan Food and Drug Administration, the Health Directorate, the Industry and Trade Directorate, and public safety committees in the governorate, which enhances the effectiveness of inspections and the immediate action against violators.
He pointed out that inspection teams are working around the clock to monitor food warehouses and commercial stores, ensuring the products' validity and compliance with specifications. The oversight also includes monitoring Ramadan tables and charitable iftar meals in cooperation with the Jordan Food and Drug Administration to ensure safe and healthy meals are provided to those fasting.
Dr. Abu Qaoud affirmed that the Unified Committee will continue to impose strict oversight on markets to ensure price stability and protect consumers from any violations that may affect their health or rights, stressing that food safety is a non-negotiable priority.
