AMMAN — The
Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) received a letter from the Zarqa Municipality reporting
significant financial accomplishments, with the municipality stating it
achieved financial savings and recovered a total value of JD28.155 million,
Al-Ghad reported.

The municipality's detailed report outlined
savings and waste reduction totaling JD3.334 million, along with contributions
to recovery amounting to JD24.821 million, following ongoing cooperation and
coordination with the IACC to implement preventive control measures in
alignment with national integrity standards, alongside corrective actions
during 2022 and 2023.
Additionally, the municipality affirmed its
recognition of the IACC Indicator as a roadmap to safeguard public funds and
preserve national resources. The municipality’s accompanying statement
highlighted various implemented actions, including the introduction of an
electronic fingerprint system, termination of services for 210 non-compliant
employees, precautionary seizure of funds from delinquent taxpayers, as well as
property rehabilitation efforts and revenue collection strategies.
