AMMAN — Ahmed Al-Ziadat, the
Minister of justice, separately
received His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador, Abdelkrim Bahah, and His
Excellency the Ambassador of the EU Mission, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas and
their accompanying delegations, in his office on Tuesday, September 26. He
discussed further legal cooperation between Jordan and both parties
respectively.

The meetings were held in the presence of the
secretary-general of judicial affairs, Saad Al-Lawzi, and the secretary-general
of administrative and financial affairs, Khuloud Al-Abbadi.
Longstanding cooperation with Algeria
Ziadat said that the Hashemite Kingdom of
Jordan and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria have had a legal and judicial
cooperation agreement since 2001.
The two sides discussed a memorandum of understanding
project between the two ministries of justice aimed at enhancing cooperation
and exchanging experiences in the legal and judicial field. They are currently
working on finalizing the signing procedures, hoping for further cooperation in
the future.
EU judicial support
During the meeting, Ziadat and
Chatzisavas discussed the
progress of the project to support the rule of law through the budget provided
by the EU for the years 2023-2026 and ways to enhance cooperation and
coordination between the two parties.
