The Prime Minister directed ministers to develop a detailed executive program for implementing the ministerial statement by early January. The directives emphasize cooperation with the Lower House of Parliament, parliamentary blocs, and parties, in line with constitutional provisions. The program aims to enhance public services by empowering employees to provide efficient and high-quality services.
In a move to support agriculture and food security, the Cabinet approved amendments to the unified lease contract for treasury lands in al-Hamad and al-Sarhan basins. This amendment is designed to address obstacles in agricultural land leasing, enabling investors to create projects that are expected to generate at least 2,000 jobs.
The Cabinet also approved a financing agreement with the Islamic Development Bank for the second phase of the Emergency Food Security Project. This initiative seeks to bolster the Kingdom's strategic reserves of wheat and barley, establish cooling facilities, central laboratories, and water harvesting projects, and enhance food security infrastructure. Additionally, agreements with the World Food Program were endorsed to support school nutrition, aid vulnerable groups, and improve food systems.
To alleviate financial burdens on citizens, the Cabinet decided to exempt students on public university scholarships from fines if they settle their principal dues. Specific conditions and deadlines were set for settlements, including partial exemptions for payments in installments.
In the energy sector, the Cabinet extended the exemption deadline for renewable energy systems by 30 days to encourage sector growth. Moreover, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was directed to proceed with negotiations for establishing natural gas distribution networks in Amman and Zarqa. The project, expected to take four years, aims to reduce gas costs by at least 35% for households and businesses.
The Cabinet also approved recommendations by the Tax Settlement Committee to resolve the status of 79 companies and taxpayers, in line with efforts to stimulate economic activities and support investment.
Other approvals included the General Statistics Bill for 2024, amended civil health insurance instructions, and the National Strategy for Future Stations 2025. The strategy aligns with the Economic Modernization Vision and focuses on preparing talents for future job markets, bridging the digital divide, and fostering entrepreneurship through knowledge stations.
