Ramallah – The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that 12,329 Palestinian students have been martyred and 20,160 others have been injured since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the West Bank on October 7, 2023.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the Ministry explained that the number of students martyred in Gaza has surpassed 13,054, with 21,320 others injured. In the West Bank, 123 students were martyred, and 671 others were injured, while 560 students have been detained.
The Ministry also reported that 657 teachers and administrators were martyred, with 3,904 others injured in Gaza and the West Bank, and more than 165 detained in the West Bank.
Furthermore, 324 government schools and university buildings, as well as 65 buildings belonging to the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), were subjected to bombing and vandalism in Gaza. 128 schools were completely destroyed, and 57 were partially damaged. Additionally, 109 schools and seven universities in the West Bank were raided and vandalized.
The Ministry emphasized that 788,000 students in Gaza have been deprived of attending their schools and universities since the beginning of the aggression, with many suffering from psychological trauma and facing difficult health conditions.
It also pointed out that repeated incursions by Israeli forces in Jenin and Tulkarm have caused fear and panic among students in their schools.
