**The full statement reads as follows:**
The Ministerial Committee assigned by the Extraordinary Joint Arab and Islamic Summit on the developments in the Gaza Strip expresses its condemnation and denunciation of the airstrikes carried out by Israeli occupation forces on the Gaza Strip, targeting areas inhabited by defenseless civilians, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of Palestinians. These actions represent a clear violation of the ceasefire agreement, United Nations resolutions, international conventions, and international humanitarian law, exacerbating the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. It poses an additional threat to regional security and stability and escalates the risk of a broader regional conflict, undermining efforts to achieve calm and stability in the region.
The committee reiterates its call to the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities and take immediate action to pressure Israel (the occupying power) to cease its aggression and violations, comply with United Nations resolutions, and international law, and protect Palestinian civilians from Israel's oppressive war machine. The committee also calls for Israel to restore electricity to Gaza, open all crossings to ensure continuous and expanded humanitarian aid access across the Strip, which is facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster.
The committee affirms the urgent need for a permanent and sustainable ceasefire, halting Israeli escalation, resuming dialogue, and returning to negotiations to implement all phases of the ceasefire agreement, ultimately ending the war on Gaza and preventing the return to a cycle of renewed violence.
The committee reaffirms its firm position on the importance of achieving a just and lasting peace for the Palestinian cause within the framework of the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative, in accordance with United Nations resolutions, international law, and agreed-upon references and standards, ensuring the protection of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The committee, formed on November 11, 2023, includes the Foreign Ministers of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Indonesia, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the State of Palestine, and the Secretaries-General of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
