This statement was made in a message on the occasion of International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8 each year.
Al-Yamahi emphasized that empowering Arab women is a top priority on the Arab Parliament’s agenda, underscoring that the importance of their role in nation-building cannot be overlooked. He stressed that women are key partners in progress, development, and in raising generations capable of facing current challenges.
He also commended the contributions of Arab women on the Arab, regional, and international levels, noting their honorable representation of Arab countries in major international organizations and institutions.
In his statement, the President of the Arab Parliament extended a special tribute of admiration and respect to Palestinian women, praising their sacrifices and steadfastness in the face of the massacres and genocide carried out by the Israeli occupation in Gaza over the past year and three months. He emphasized that Palestinian women will remain symbols of struggle, resilience, and heroism until the Palestinian people achieve all their legitimate rights, including the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
