AMMAN — On Friday, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated that he announced the possibility that Australia might eliminate the submarine deal with a French company set in 2016. Morrison announced the possibility in talks with the French president in June, denouncing French criticism that they had not been warned, according to Jordan News Agency, Petra.

Australia on Thursday announced that it will scrap the $40 billion deal to build a fleet of conventional submarines with France's Naval Group. Instead, Australia said it would build at least eight nuclear-powered submarines using British U.S. technology after striking a trilateral security partnership.
