In her resignation letter to the Prime Minister, Dodds stated that these cuts would negatively impact the UK's commitments to Gaza, Sudan, and Ukraine, leading to "food shortages and inadequate healthcare for those in need," ultimately damaging the UK’s reputation on the international stage. She expressed that her resignation was made with great sadness but reaffirmed her continued support for the government.
