Dollar jumps 1% against pound on US inflation data

The dollar surged against the pound sterling and other leading currencies on Friday after data showed that US inflation soared to its highest level in 40 years in May. اضافة اعلان

Shortly before 3:00 pm (1400 GMT), the greenback jumped by one percent to 1.2366 against the pound and by 0.9 percent to 1.0524 against the euro, as investors bet on an increase in US interest rates next week, traders said.
