In a statement to the German news agency (dpa), the director of the "Verdi" union, which represents workers in the services sector, Jeremias Arendt, confirmed that the warning strike began as planned and will last for two consecutive days.

According to the information, the strike will halt subway trains, trams, and buses in Berlin, while regional trains and buses will not be affected.

This is the fourth strike called by the union during the current round of collective wage negotiations for around 16,000 employees. The "Verdi" union has already announced a vote on implementing indefinite strikes if no agreement is reached.
