Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced that indirect talks between Iran and the United States will begin in Oman on April 12.

Araghchi posted on X: "Iran and the United States will hold high-level indirect talks in Oman on Saturday. This is both an opportunity and a test. The ball is in the United States' court."اضافة اعلان

In a March 7 interview with Fox Business, Trump mentioned that he had sent a message to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, saying, "I hope you will negotiate because our military intervention would be a terrible thing."

Tehran responded to the message through Oman, stating that it would not engage in direct negotiations under threat and pressure, and was only willing to participate in indirect talks.

On Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei said in a press conference in Tehran that they are waiting for Washington's decision on the format of the indirect negotiations, noting that Oman is one of the key options for hosting these talks.
