Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed on Tuesday his country’s refusal to engage in public negotiations regarding its nuclear file.
According to Iranian media, Araghchi stated that Iran’s pursuit of civilian nuclear energy is driven by long-term priorities aligned with its development goals.
He criticized Israel’s refusal to join the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) or to allow oversight by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
The foreign minister emphasized that Western countries are practicing double standards, ignoring Israel’s undeclared nuclear arsenal while placing pressure on Iran.
Araghchi also pointed out that certain “special interest groups” are working to undermine the negotiation process by distorting the image of Iranian negotiators and pushing the U.S. administration to make maximalist demands aimed at derailing diplomatic efforts.
