Israeli Media: Shin Bet Chief to Resign in Mid-May

Israeli Channel 12 reported on Saturday that Shin Bet (Shabak) Chief Ronen Bar will resign from his position in mid-May.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has finally decided to dismiss Bar, stating that he no longer trusts him. This decision sparked protests from the opposition, and the implementation of the dismissal was blocked by the Supreme Court.اضافة اعلان

In March, Netanyahu announced Bar’s dismissal, saying that the decision was due to a "continuing lack of trust that had worsened over time." The dispute between Netanyahu and Bar escalated following investigations related to the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.

The decision to remove the head of Shin Bet prompted protests from the Israeli opposition, and the Supreme Court hindered the implementation of the decision.
