In a post on the "X" platform, Macron said he was preparing to "visit Egypt at the invitation of President Sisi," without specifying a date for the visit.

He added that during the visit, he would hold "a trilateral summit with President Sisi and the King of Jordan." He emphasized that this was in response to the "emergency situation in the Gaza Strip."

Earlier on Saturday, President Sisi discussed the "developments in Gaza" with Macron over the phone, where they reviewed Egypt's efforts to cease fire in the region, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.

The statement clarified that the two leaders also discussed "key cooperation issues in light of Macron’s anticipated visit to Egypt, as well as opportunities to enhance cooperation in line with the interests of the two friendly countries."

Since the resumption of the genocide in Gaza on March 18, 2025, Israel has killed 1,309 Palestinians and wounded 3,184 others, most of them women and children, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

With full U.S. support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 165,000 dead and wounded Palestinians, mostly women and children, and more than 11,000 missing.
