This was revealed in a statement issued by the UNHCR regarding the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland.

The statement mentioned that more than 270,000 Syrian refugees had returned after the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime.

Currently, 5.5 million Syrian refugees live in Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, and Egypt, according to the statement from the UN agency.

The statement also reported that over 825,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Syria have returned to their regions since December of last year.
