Qatari Banks' Assets Exceed QAR 2 Trillion for the First Time in History
Doha - The assets of commercial banks in Qatar have surpassed QAR 2 trillion (USD 549.4 million) for the first time in history.

Recent data released by the Qatar Central Bank revealed that these assets increased by 3.55% at the end of last month, reaching QAR 2.04 trillion, compared to QAR 1.97 trillion in the same month of 2024.اضافة اعلان

The data also indicated a rise in total customer deposits in commercial banks operating in Qatar last month by 2.97% year-on-year, reaching QAR 1.04 trillion, compared to QAR 1.01 trillion in the same period of 2024.

Additionally, commercial bank deposits increased slightly by 0.97% on a monthly basis, having amounted to QAR 1 trillion in December 2024, according to a survey by the Qatar Central Bank.

Deposits were supported by a 1% rise in private sector deposits in Qatar, reaching QAR 476.63 billion at the end of last month, compared to QAR 471 billion in the same month of 2024.

Deposits from non-residents in Qatar totaled QAR 202 billion at the end of last month, up from QAR 181 billion during the same period last year, showing an 11.5% increase year-on-year.
