The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday that Russia and the United States have agreed to continue their talks and facilitate the operations of their respective embassies, during discussions that took place yesterday, Thursday, in Istanbul.

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press statement: "Agreement was reached on joint steps to ensure unrestricted funding for the activities of Russian and U.S. diplomatic missions on a reciprocal basis, and to create the appropriate conditions for diplomats to carry out their official duties.
The negotiations were practical and constructive, and it was agreed to continue the dialogue through this format."
The Russian and U.S. delegations held talks in Istanbul, with the U.S. delegation led by U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Sonata Coulter, and the Russian delegation headed by Alexander Darchiev, Director of the North Atlantic Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
