The military governor of Zaporizhzhia, Ivan Fedorov, stated on Telegram that a 45-year-old man was killed, and a 44-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were injured in an "enemy drone attack" on vehicles parked in front of a house in the area.
In Kharkiv, near the Russian border, the city's mayor Igor Terekhov reported 8 injuries, while regional governor Oleg Sinegubov said on Telegram that it was a "massive attack with enemy drones."
For its part, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed it intercepted and destroyed 93 Ukrainian drones on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, most of them over the Kursk region. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russia launched 72 strikes and fired 646 "drone aircraft" on Ukrainian territory since the beginning of the day.
Both Ukraine and Russia informed the United States on Tuesday about attacks on their energy facilities and urged Washington to tighten sanctions on Moscow, which Ukraine accuses of "violating" agreements made in Saudi Arabia.
Following separate meetings between a U.S. delegation and Russian and Ukrainian officials hosted by Saudi Arabia, the United States announced that both sides agreed to develop means to implement an "agreement to prohibit strikes against energy facilities" in Russia and Ukraine. However, both sides exchanged accusations of violating the commitment to refrain from targeting energy infrastructure, despite no official agreement being signed.
