A Saudi official stated that the kingdom will "do more than just host the negotiations and will mediate between the two sides."
The Saudi delegation will be led by the Saudi National Security Advisor, whose name has not been disclosed yet.
The network noted that the first meeting may take place in Saudi Arabia on February 18.
Earlier, NBC News reported that U.S. authorities plan to hold separate talks with Russia and Ukraine first, before organizing a joint summit.
The news of the Russian-American negotiations comes at a time when British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that he is "ready and willing" to send British troops to Ukraine to enforce a peace agreement if necessary.
Starmer emphasized that he does not take this possibility lightly and that helping to ensure Ukraine's security would enhance the security of the United Kingdom and Europe.
