According to The Washington Post, a significant security lapse allowed over 11,200 employees of the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to unintentionally access a Google Drive folder containing sensitive and restricted documents, including White House floor plans and other confidential information.اضافة اعلان

The incident reportedly dates back to 2021, when a GSA employee accidentally modified access permissions on a file containing the East Wing design of the White House, thereby granting broader access than intended.

The exposed documents included not only architectural layouts, but also details about a blast-resistant door planned for the White House Visitor Center and bank account information of a vendor involved in organizing a press conference for former President Donald Trump.

According to the report, GSA employees were not only able to view at least 10 out of the 15 documents in the folder, but also edit and alter their contents.

The article stated:

“The Google Drive folder containing sensitive documents was unintentionally made accessible for viewing and sharing to all GSA employees—numbering more than 11,200 individuals.”

Cybersecurity teams reportedly identified the document owners last week and have since restricted access to the files to prevent further unauthorized use.

This incident underscores ongoing challenges in managing digital information security across large government organizations.
