Cairo,The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the Israeli occupation's decision to cancel the 1967 agreement with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), warning of the consequences and risks of putting any obstacles in the way of providing UNRWA’s essential services to millions of Palestinian refugees in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.

The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammad Ahmad Al-Yamahi, confirmed in a statement that this decision constitutes a crime against humanity and a blatant challenge to the international community and international decisions and laws related to the protection of Palestinian refugees.
He welcomed the outcomes of the Arab League Council at the level of permanent representatives at the conclusion of its extraordinary session, which expressed the Arab position regarding the repercussions of applying the illegitimate decisions of the Israeli occupation's parliament to ban the work of UNRWA in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1967.
Al-Yamahi called on the international community, the Security Council, and the United Nations to assume their moral and legal responsibilities and take practical steps to force the occupation state to reverse its decision to ban UNRWA's activities, which provides assistance and relief to about 6.4 million Palestinian refugees, including two million refugees in the Gaza Strip.
He also called for continued full support for the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land, urging donor countries to continue fulfilling their commitments to the agency and emphasizing the importance of joint commitments towards UNRWA.
Al-Yamahi expressed the Arab Parliament's continued support for all efforts that enhance the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land and their adherence to their legitimate rights in accordance with international law, reaffirming rejection of any infringement on those inalienable rights, which threatens security and stability, warns of further conflict in the region, undermines the chances for peace, peaceful coexistence between peoples, and weakens the two-state solution.
