Magen David Adom announced that three people were killed, in addition to two critical and two moderate cases.
The occupation police said two people carried out the operation, one of whom used an "axe" and the other fired. The police called on the residents to stay in their homes. Police set up barriers around the operation site with the help of a helicopter after information that a vehicle had fled the site.
The spokesman for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), Hazem Qassem, said that the operation is part of the anger of the Palestinian people over the occupation's attacks on holy sites, adding that "the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque cannot go unpunished."
He continued, "The heroic operation in Tel Aviv today is a practical application of what the resistance warned against, that Al-Aqsa is a red line...".
